I find that I write down 1 or 3 things I am grateful for and then really look into the nature of why I am grateful for it. For instance, I may write that I am grateful for my coffee on quiet mornings. I then explore what is it about my quiet morning coffee that makes me grateful. I may notice the warming heating from the cup, the aroma, quiet means it is my time, quiet also means I am sober and appreciating it, it may include watching the dark sky turn pink as the sun comes up...and so on. I personally found that taking the time to understand why I am grateful to be very beneficial to me.
