Five weeks sober
I'm so grateful for the fact that I've managed 5 weeks sober haven't done this before ,since realising and being honest with myself that I have an alcohol problem. I have read two great books which have really helped me and for the first time ever I have my eyes wide open to the fact alcohol and me don't mix! It's been a very hard five weeks but the past day or so I'm starting to feel better about myself. I have used booze to numb pain for years and I know I have a hard road ahead as I now have to deal with things but I am seeing someone next week to talk things through etc... I am going to start looking after myself I'd get fit eat right take time for me and find new things to do with my time instead of been wasted or nursing a hangover. At the moment I have no intention of drinking but I have to be careful and be good to myself and not listen to my head when it says it'll be alright to just have a drink as I now know I can never do that for my sake and my families sake. I can do this and so can whoever is going to read this.
