Naturally Grateful For ~ Part 2
Naturally grateful for the rhythmic communication I have with my two cats.
Morning, I'm fixing coffee. Two cats sit at the kitchen doorway:"Mow." That means, "Please give us our morning cookie-treats."
Sitting at the desk reading on SR drinking coffee: "Mow." *cat flops on his side at my elbow.* This means, "Please brush me." He isn't going to stop this until I do.
Early evening: *nuzzlenuzzle* I don't know what this means, as there are no expectations of food or other attentions. I choose to think it's just friendly companionship. It does result in some ear scratches and more nuzzling, so win/win.

Naturally grateful for the little garter snake who I "saved" from certain bicycle-crush death. S/he was on the paved trail and not moving. Of course - I suppose he was holding still and trying to not be seen by me, but I jumped into action and picked him up. So squirmy!! I totally freaked him out but didn't want to drop him onto pavement from three feet high, so I just held onto him while I took him to the grass. When I let him go he didn't immediately react, but then he did speed off into the undergrowth.
It was awesome. Until I realized he evacuated his bladder/bowels on my hands. That stuff smells foul! No way to wash it off on the bike trail
No good deed goes unpunished
