A little ground squirrel on my walk yesterday. He wanted to cross the path. He wasn't sure it was safe while I was there. He bounced up and down under a fallen log, over it, looking at me. I didn't move. He finally felt safe enough to come out into the open and cross the path. It was a great moment for me. For him? Just another lucky escape.

Naturally grateful that two salmon managed to spit out the hook before they got to the net.

I always say little encouragements to the fish on the hook. Yesterday I watched four fish get hooked, and two got away.

Naturally grateful for the flock of geese that happened to cross the exit driveway on the side street at work while I was pulling out!

Sure I needed to go. But nature stopped me in my tracks and I enjoyed giving the geese the right of way, one by one, slowly walking in front of my car while glancing at me.

It was almost like we were all a family!
