I've been away from this site for a few years and I cannot tell you how much this site helped me through the roughest time of my life while living with an addict. I've been divorced for 8 years and my boys are now 13 and 15. We are all doing very well!!

My exah had been sober for about 2 years during the last eight and "claims" he only drinks now, but it's no longer my problem and I can go to bed at night knowing I will have a peaceful night without worrying about him. These are HIS choices and for that I'm thankful we no longer are together.

I found out he was addicted to crack a few months after our second son was born. I stayed with him until my boys were 5 and 6 because I thought I could 'protect' my boys if I stayed with him. We have a much less chaotic life and for that I'm thankful.

I seriously could not have done it without the support of SR. Everyone here completely understands because we are walking the same path.
