Recovery truly is heaven on earth
 

I am very grateful and living a slice of heaven on earth.

As the son of a recovered alcoholic mother 25 years of dedicated AA recovery who past away from lung cancer.

The brother of a alcoholic sister who past away at age 40 due to her chronic alcoholism that may have never been treated for her mental health issues in her treatment attempts.

A husband of a wife that is recovering!

A father of a son diagnosed as a suicidal alcoholic who yesterday celebrated 2 1/2 years of sobriety!!!!

It took our sons disease for this slow learning adult child of alcoholism to learn the gifts found in our families recovery.

I went from thinking self-will or convincing words or anything on earth could help the alcoholic to knowing nothing on earth can help an alcoholic except a willingness for help and all of the logical 12 steps and principles of the AA program.

This is a free of charge program with people just like us that provides our thinking tools as the mind slowly dries out the chemical abuse and frees up space so our emotional thinking can honestly surface and then managed a recovery that is fueled by a grateful heart every morning we awake sober.
