My ability and will to be honest with myself.
My own desire to refuse alcohol use and thus abuse.
All of you who have chosen to listen and offer guidance, advice and words of encouragement.
The 3/4s of a large pizza I stuffed in my gut to relieve the urge to drink yesterday.
For being on call right now making binge drinking impossible. (I only ever binge drank)

The frigid and refreshing winter air.
The apology of my Sister when I spilled my deepest hurt in front of her.
Dogs.
When things at work go better than I expected (and feared in the dark).
Hot showers.
My vehicle.
That I have a place to rest.
That I need not fear being bombed or shot as a likely possibility.
Of all the bad memories of waking up on the ground with the lights on hung over.
Not being a slave.
and the forgiveness that other people have shown me. May I learn from my mistakes.
