Bedtime Gratitude ~ Part 49
Grateful that 88 year old Mum loved the first half of the rugby league final and is now enjoying the second half tucked up in bed with tea, an electric blanket and a lot of excitement.
I hope she finds her team in the final.

I'm grateful that my week ended decently and that I was happy and felt decent.
I'm grateful that hubby isn't resisting taking our strange little cat to the emergency vet tonight.
I'm grateful that this Friday night will not be spent in a bar.
Thank you SR

Grateful that in the slide show at tonight's viewing, there were some pictures of my mother together with the lady who died. Grateful my Mom has a girlfriend in heaven with her now.
Grateful for a nice dinner with my Sis in law and a hometown football game.
Grateful to have a brand new life only possible with sobriety.

For a much missed bed to rest my bones and a nice soft pillow to rest my dome.
For my SR friends.

Grateful that, although I was supposed to be at the Anorexics & Bulimics Anonymous retreat this weekend, and speaking there as well, I am at home. When they had to turn the plane around because of the fire at O'Hare, I was actually relieved. Glad I didn't freak out and try to take a later flight. I really just need to rest these days....
And grateful, though somewhat embarrassed to say, I'm finally watching Back to the Future for the first time. I know, I know...
Love and hugs,
Eddie

Grateful I remembered to not attach good or bad evaluations to different tasks today and just proceed with the next right thing.
Grateful to miss my Mother and wonder what she would think about the evolution in the lives of her loved ones.
Grateful though we may not control the pattern taken by loss and pain in our lives, the actual suffering is optional.

Grateful for the extra hours at work. Which for me means 7 days and 65-70 hours a week lately. Not that I'm crazy about working. If I had it my way I'd like to not work while having enough money to pay bills and enjoy life. Or at least work much less hours while still getting by comfortably.
Grateful to make it through the fear, anger, desperation, hopelessness, that got me to this point of realization while maintaining my sobriety. There were several years of being under employed before getting this job in May, 2013.
The economy tends to go in a recession every 5-10 years. I remember when the economy was booming in the 1990's and when I used to complain about too much work. Then in the 2000's the company went bankrupt. That's why I'm now grateful for these extra hours because I know this won't last forever.
Grateful to get my check up from the neck up by reading and posting on this forum. It's like group therapy for me.
