Grateful I spoke with my Dad tonight on the phone and we had a good talk.
Grateful to start a new audiobook today.
Grateful two friends at work who had plans to resign have changed their minds.

Cause of death suicide by asphyxia.
Heavens. Now this is getting spooky after my last two posts about my co-worker committing suicide. I've often heard deaths can go in threes.

Grateful to be home, in bed (well its a couch but its comfy) and sober and sleepy.

grateful for a new job
grateful I got through all the training modules today
grateful for 87 daily reprieves from alcohol
grateful for another chance to live a sober life and wake up tomorrow being sober and being of service to others
grateful I got to spend time with a new friend over the weekend
grateful the weather has been nice enough to walk outside
grateful my mom is recovering well from surgery and grateful I can be of service to her
grateful I got through all the training modules today

Grateful to be going to bed sober.
Grateful tomorrow is day 5, the longest I've been sober in over 4 years.
Grateful to not have had to pop mints and gum all day today so no one would smell alcohol.
Grateful I'm going to remember to brush and floss tonight.

My musical hero Phil Ochs also hung himself with a belt. So very grateful to be happy to be alive today, that I'm nowhere close to wanting to end it all. So grateful...because I HAVE been there.
And grateful for Ben & Jerry's. And that I can enjoy it guilt-free, not tormented by shame and self-loathing!

Grateful In have no flood damage, mainly because I don't have a basement. My area got hit really hard with up to over 4 inches of rain yesterday.
Most people I talked to in the area had flooded basements, some as high as the ceiling. Many cars were stuck and submerged in water on the freeways and other roads.
