Grateful for a chance to celebrate my Dad's belated 84th birthday with my sibs today. We are throwing Dad a little party. Grateful his health is fairly good and he looks at least 10 to 15 years younger. Grateful he passed on his genes (as someone the other day swore I was in my late 30s.) Lol Grateful not drinking is good for the looks as well as the health!

I feel the love today

Grateful for a 7 am AA meeting this morning that I attend with my wife.
A young Lady celebrated one year of living in recovery from our illness, and you could feel the love in the room.

EQ I knew you were hot looking, and now you have confessed. You know I would love you even if your package was not attractive because my carcass is getting a little withered with wear.

Grateful for 111 days sober. I never would have thought it possible. Grateful that I still want , more than anything in the word, to stay sober.

Grateful for posts that make me smile and other ones that make me proud of other's sobriety milestones.

Grateful the other day I passed a milestone by telling a new acquaintance from my new town that I don't drink. That moment anticipated had been bringing me anxiety.

Grateful I am putting yesterday behind me and glad I won't be around alcohol anymore today,

Grateful when I felt a little brittle yesterday and knew alcohol would have soothed it in the short-term, I thought: EQ, abstaining from alcohol is a very small price to pay in exchange for getting the rest of your life returned to you! That is a deal with God you can keep as opposed to the deal with the devil you were making when you drank.

Grateful when I think about drinking, even after 29 months, I never fantasize that I could take it or leave it. Which is the evidence to me that I can never have just one.

Congratulations grtgrandpa!! That really is fabulous.

Grateful that I have 11 weeks of sober living, and I'm not intending to go back to poisoning myself.

Grateful that my dream about drinking a sickly sweet alcoholic drink, was just a dream, and I'm still free.

Grateful that I spent yesterday helping my OH paint the outside of the house rather than staying in the kitchen preparing bean burgers. The house looks great for another year.
