I am grateful for a good night's sleep last night. I must've needed it because I slept like ten hours.

And I'm grateful we had some rain, too. That was much needed as well. Now my amaryllises are happy again.

Love and hugs,
Eddie

eddie, I also slept for 10 hours last night, as you say I must have needed it.

I am grateful to be able to put "me" aside and listen to others.

Grateful that my husband, his father, and I got to look at a bunch of houses and managed not to get into any arguments.

And grateful that I made a very nice supper with help again from the South Beach Diet Online. Mediterranean chicken with tzatziki sauce and a Greek salad.

Have a fab rest of the weekend, y'all!!
Love and hugs,
Eddie

I just got finished posting on my other thread when the phone rang. My friend called to tell me that one of my good friends from AA was dead. His name was Roland. She said he died of cancer. He only found out he had it a couple of weeks ago. I knew he had been feeling poorly and they were doing tests....but I had no idea. I will miss him dearly. I am grateful he died as a sober member of AA. I feel stunned now. I am grateful that I get to feel though. Goodnight everybody.
Love,
L

I am so sorry, ((((L))))! I found out the day after I found out about Trish that a friend of mine from high school had also died of cancer. I didn't even know he was in the Program but apparently he died sober, but only about 4 months after diagnosis. What makes it particularly sad is that his sister, my best friend, was killed by a drunk driver back in 1982, so their mother is now dealing with the death of a second child. She is in the Program, too, and I hope she is staying sober herself. I sent her an Easter lily plant. Then there is a memorial service in early May that I'm planning on attending. I, too, am glad to know that he was in the Program and sober.

How are you doing this morning?
Love and hugs,
Eddie

Hi Eddie,
Istill feel a little disbelief that I will never see him again. I am trying to remember what an old timer told me when Matt and I split up. He said, Realtionships never end. They only change. Even in death they don't end." Maybe someday somehow I will see him again. Who knows. I really miss him this morning. Grateful that I am in the program today. Grateful I get to walk through stuff without having to "fix" how I am feeling.

Glad to hear you are doing OK, L! I know my drinking really took off when my friend Kate was killed. And that is how I dealt with things for the next 20 years. So glad I'm not there today!

Love and hugs,
Eddie

Thank you, Richie!!

I am grateful that I had something to share at the meeting I went to this morning. I may even have made some sense for once. LOL. I talked about my "no expectations" motto and how I try to use it. I hope it helped somebody.

I am also grateful for the open houses we went to today. We went in four homes and all of them were pretty cool. Now we have to get on with the financing part. Sca-ry.

Love and hugs,
Eddie

Hi L, sorry to hear about your friend and I am glad your ok. Its very difficult losing people close to you, but I think thats right it does not end.

eddie I am glad your getting to look at lots of houses and you are also dealing with your losses.

Today I am grateful for a day off (public holiday - Anzac day) a good sleep and an early start to be with my HP quietly.

Thank you, Kevin!!

I am grateful for Swan Island dahlias website. I just ordered some more bulbs and am getting excited about planting this year's dahlias.

Also grateful for a relatively quiet night on call...so far.

I am grateful for all of you! You all give others a lot of encouragement and hope.
Grateful for being able to enjoy sobriety today.

Good weather coming up, too! That is so nice!!

I'm still here trying to get myself in shape. I put on a bit of weight over the last few months in trying to get sober so maybe now I can shed the pounds. My thing is lack of patience. LOL, I wanted to see results, like yesterday but then I remind myself that they didn't just all appear overnight either. (It sure seemed like it though!!) I am going to get myself up in the morning and run!! Yippie!!!

Love,

Cheryl

Hey Eddie, Richie, L, and Kevin!!

Woo hoo, I made it out the door and ran for 30 minutes this morning! I'm still waiting on that energy boost they say exercise gives. I guess I have to be patient for that, too??? LOL, baby steps, baby steps! Those baby steps add up.

I am grateful for the BEAUTIFUL day! It is absolutely gorgeous outside!

Love,

Cheryl
