Bedtime Gratitude ~ Part 46
Grateful to be tired rather then about to pass out.
Grateful to remind myself that I don't have to be a victim or a martyr and I can change situations for the better if I pay attention as I go along.
Grateful that I don't hide behind alcohol anymore and grateful i always remember that everyday I do not drink I become a stronger, more self respecting and more experienced person.
Grateful i always remember that Everyday I did drink was stagnation, depression, hopelessness, helplessness, shame, dishonesty, regression, poverty, enslavement, alienation and danger. And that's just for starters! Lol
Grateful SR helps me keep reality at the forefront
and SR helps me issue denial a No Vacancy sign.

So very grateful for this incredible post.
I would like to print this out (with your permission), and read your words every day Eternal. ♥
Grateful that Mr. Marcher is coming home to recuperate and for Elizabeth's insightful post.
Grateful for a 6 mile run tonight.
Grateful for my job and for my husband and kids.
Grateful for a cozy bed, tired feet and a flannel pjs (even though it is summer).

Grateful to have people here who understand how hard this can be.
I am sober in my nice warm bed. There are people out there now, blacked out, vulnerable, maybe homeless, desperate and cold.
There are people fighting, crying, falling down, driving while drunk. There are kids wishing they had a sober parent to turn to.
Not me tonight. Not any of you tonight. Let's not go back to it.

Grateful to have found a sale on nice watches for a graduation gift for my granddaughter, and grateful they gift wrapped!
Grateful today I finally joined the local art league in my new to me town. Grateful they need lots of help and fresh ideas because I need to make friends but have trouble without a shared purpose. Been trying to make myself join there for months.
Grateful I finally visited the newsstand next door to that league, which is actually a little luncheonette and i had their daily homemade soup: carrot ginger. Yum. And I had a bottle of ginger ale made with cane sugar that i learned is actually made and bottled in the town! What a little find that place was!
Grateful I am able to see this town with fresh excited eyes even when so many complain about it.
Grateful to have finally done a few loads of laundry as it is quite backed up in my hamper....
Grateful for some rainy days because I get more done when I the weather sets limits on outside time.
Grateful I felt a little less lonely today and made more of an effort to talk to all the strangers I met.
Grateful all of the above happens without the crutch of alcohol
and continues because I do not drink.

Thank you, Spirit, so much, for "David Tennant's Companion" on YouTube and her "Classic Who Blind" series. She makes me laugh. https://www.youtube.com/user/DTennan...anion/featured
And thank you for my increasing patience and restraint. I'm so much better than I used to be and "better" than the folks I have to practice patience and restraint with. teehee.
Love and hugs,
Eddie
