Grateful I know that not feeling so good won't last forever.
Grateful I got to leave work a little early so I wasn't stuck in holiday traffic.
Grateful to have just a few things this weekend with specific arrival times so I can structure my plans around those commitments.
Grateful none of those commitments were tonight.
Grateful to lay down and just watch the ballgame.

Grateful to follow EQ AGAIN!!

Grateful for a very spiritual, mystical speaker in an AA meeting this morning. I got so much out of it.

Grateful that I've learned I don't have to answer right away, I don't have to decide right away, and that an invitation doesn't always have to be a dilemma.

Grateful that every day I can start with a clean slate because I don't have anymore "pre-existing" debris dirtying it up.

Grateful to have gotten through the day (day two) and for having had the energy and focus to sew a little.
I'm grateful to be able to chat with all of you...
and I'm very grateful that we just located out daughter--who wasn't really missing but is hard to track sometimes. Phwew.

Goodnight!

Grateful to make it through 5 hours today of staying out of the house while the real estate agent had showings for my house as my house is for sale.

I made good use of it by driving around all day with my wife and son and looking at different places to live after we sell the home.

Grateful we got an offer that is satisfactory from someone to buy our home. But not sure if this is going to work out as the buyer wants to move into our home by the end of June, and we're still clueless on where to live.

I asked the real estate agent if she could help us find a place we can rent that meets our budget. Grateful that she said she will help us find a place to live.

This can get complicated on me and my wife agreeing on where to live. Looked at a house for rent that is somewhat run down but meets our budget and is in a relatively clean, safe neighborhood. But my wife wouldn't stand for it. It was below her standards because it was too rundown for her.

Then we happened to check out a town house that meets our budget. Very good condition and even has a pool and fitness/workout room. But it's a little more North than we'd like and makes our driving commute longer for work.

Oh heavens. I'm seeing a pattern here.

Grateful that I was sober tonight when a family member called and needed my help. It felt good to be there for them and the crisis was easily averted. I think they felt supported and thankful. It made me feel proud and happy.

Grateful I finally stopped trying to distract myself from what is going on inside of me.

Grateful when I had drinking thoughts tonight I did something different with them. I watched them and felt them swell, and (though a bit painful) I stayed with it and watched them subside. Didn't deny them, talk back to them, or distract myself from them. Knew I wasn't going to drink but I think I have a fear of even having cravings or thoughts and I need to get over that fear.

Grateful that I can do the same with other states of being like loneliness or anxiety, guilt, boredom, regret, anger..... etc. Just have to remember to stop running from them.

Grateful I got to see my niece coach her son's team in soccer today and I got to play with her toddler twins on the sidelines.

Grateful I finally bought a living room rug - needed to do it since moving in 8 months ago- at a 40% off Memorial Day sale today. It is top of the line and I never would've felt I deserved it back when I drank.

Grateful I never have to spend my hard earned money on booze again!!

Grateful that the day went well.
Grateful that I took the hard news on the chin.
Grateful that I might be becoming the admirable person I always aspire to be, even if I don't make it every day.

Grateful for all of you.
Other than that, I'm a mess.
Well, that's not quite true ~ I'm grateful that Mr Marcher is going to be alright.
And I'm grateful for my cat.
