Thanks, Wasgone. You reminded me of naps! Thankful for those short naps that are always hard to leave... But lovely nonetheless.
I am grateful for my netflix account which allowed me to get lost in a good movie this weekend and get out of my spinning thoughts.

Thankful today for not enough money for evil liquid :
I had cash in my pocket (yes in my pocket) yesterday, in town,
and it stayed in my pocket even as I went PAST the bottle store,
which was open, but closed to me. YIPPIE!!

To wasgone,
I am resting up a bit today so I can attend my Granddaughter's piano recital on Saturday.
Feeling very sore feet that will get better over time. My cat is my great comfort at the moment. She loves me unconditionally. That's good enough tho will be getting out and about soon.

Grateful for not enough money for booze so I can spend it on necessities.
Necessities are coming first, now.
I'm not "broke" but I think I could easily get there if I
a) keep buying booze
b) have to keep paying for medical services because of alcohol related illnesses
c) keep missing work because of being under the influence
d) keep missing out on my Ministries because of being under the influence
e) kept up with that lifestyle since 1971 to 2014. That's a looooong time

as accounted for by testimonies in this forum,
by not wasting time and money on stuff that is so bad for us.
Oh wow, I forgot to keep track of $$ wasted since Jan.30.
Let's see, $100 a week = $800.00????? REALLY? WOW.

To wasgone, we r so fortunate to be sober as many don't make it....probably most, and I'm convinced that accountability and listened how others do it is very very important!!

I'm grateful that the longer I don't drink, the less congestion I have to cough up. It's been so bad sometimes I was fearful of dying right then and there because I couldn't breath. I'm grateful that hasn't happened for some time now.
While I'm also pretty broke right now, I know I could also scrape together enough change to pick up a pint of cheap vodka if I wanted to. I'm grateful I don't want to. I'm grateful I was able to drive past an unexpected liquor store yesterday without giving it more than a very split second's notice.

Hi Wasgone, I'm so sorry that I'm so late in notifying you about my health and my granddaughters recital. I am probably going to have the final surgery. The first one was preliminary and quite painful to use the remote and the tingling caused by the surgery. But, I think I have changed my mind.
The recital was wonderful. My Granddaughter played and sang, but the mike was so low it was hard to hear her. No matter what the granddaughters (5) do, I find it so pleasant. They are adorable and my oldest will be 17 and a senior in H.S. I have helped with all 5 and it's a true blessing in my Sobriety. If I continued to drink, I would be pushed away.
Now they don't need me much, but when their kids come they may ask me to help again. I work hard to keep healthy for those possibilities. Sorry to write so much. Luv ya,, Ippy

I am typing with the cat asleep on part of the keyboard...aren't cats just too cute (when they aren't being too demanding, ha). Thought I would just share that with you...and I can't get up until she decides.......which leaves me freezing sitting under the a/c..hahaha
