Grateful for my husband's Sobriety
I joined SR YEARS ago. My then BF (Wouldn't marry him until he gave me a 1 year of sobriety), was an alcoholic, and eventually addict. He blew thru 2 rehabs between 2004-2005. Went back to using with an on again/off again relationship.
FINALLY in 2009 he caught his motorcycle on fire when he was totally sauced. I was the last person he called for a ride that night. About a week after he caught his bike on fire, we drove past the rural road he was on. There in the dirt was his pair of melted motorcycle gloves. His rock bottom wasn't death, it was damn near it!
I'm thankful for his 4 years of recovery. I am hoping he is strong as we deal with his daughter's addictions. I was never very active in posting in the forums. My step-daughter 's current issues have brought me back. Tough Love is Tough!
