always grateful to give thanks

Always grateful to have SR on my phone when I am coping with drunk or loud family on the holiday. Thank you SR for being here for me!

Always grateful I am in touch with my emotions.

Always grateful for my family, but especially today. I saw my daughter this morning and then drove an hour to the hospital and waited with my four sisters and my brother till the surgeon came out and spoke with us. It was good to be together. It sounds strange but it was a moment where somehow we were all equal and whole, with no alignments or old resenfments. Then we all went upstairs to see my Dad. Everything felt new.

Always grateful to wake up clean, sober, nicotine free...knowing I have choices today not dictated by addiction.

Always grateful for the Mods and Greeters on SR who are so supportive, provide such wisdom and experience, and are a major reason why I became sober. They showed me it was indeed possible, and that was the missing ingredient for me.

Always grateful for progress. I wanted to write some melodies I'd had in my head but don't feel I'm to the point of buying an instrument... so I googled a free piano app and got a piano keyboard and drumset to play right on my screen that will also record what I'm doing when Im ready for that. Oh my gosh. What a world !!

I will always be grateful for my incredible family, the care and love that they give me mostly.

I will always be grateful for the shoes on my feet, the opportunities given to me, the clothes on my back, the meals I eat every day, the clean water that I can get anywhere I go, the brief moments of joy that I experience from time to time, the two friends that I have and know will support me in my times of need, the home that is warm and I live in, the blanket that covers me at night, the bed that I can sleep in, the freedom and choices that I can make on a day to day basis, the small kind gestures that people offer to me, finding this wonderful forum filled with friendly and caring people.

It's so wonderful to just realise and appreciate all the things we perceive as small in our lives, and realise and understand just how lucky we are to be on this planet sometimes in the positions we are in. I don't do it enough.

Always Grateful for the love and kindness shown to me...that grew out of adversity.
