Bedtime Gratitude - Part 41 - All Are Welcome
Grateful I set limits on how long I would stay and what I would do when I visited my mom today, thereby avoiding biting her head off. Glad I am better at self-care and boundaries.
And grateful that the new medical director (psychiatrist) at the pediatric treatment facility where I volunteer seemed to like me and was very appreciative of my input at our committee meeting today. Yea!

Grateful for Grace's news.
Grateful that the winds have died down so the firies may get control of some of the bushfires within the state.
Grateful for the cooler temperatures for them and all of us.
Grateful for a quiet day at home.

And grateful for taking the time to do more meditation/chanting this evening than I had in a while. I needed it.
Love and hugs,
Eddie
Grateful that in a potentially explosive situation I summoned up both grace and generosity -- it would never have happened pre-sobriety.
Grateful that there are chances to behave with real maturity in difficult situations and I can choose that as easily as the alternative.
Grateful that I don't have to be this grown up everyday.

Grateful that we turned off the TV and focused on having dinner with our grandchildren. There was more laughter and smiles once they forgot about their Netflix shows.
Grateful for getting back into cooking lately. Glad to find I enjoy it even more when I'm not obsessive-compulsive with it, with the numbers & nutrition part of it. That was a big part of the eating disorder phase of my addiction.
And grateful I have held my tongue regarding a HUGE bombshell my brother dropped on me today. I had all kinds of judgments and opinions, but I'm taking time to digest, to pray and meditate, before I say anything to him. So glad I am getting better at waiting to respond.
Love and hugs,
Eddie
Grateful I set limits at work today.
Grateful I set limits with family and backed out of their planned gathering that wouldve required me, (after commuting my hour home) to turn around and drive 45 mins to a dinner and then 45 back home again. I was exhausted and had a headache and they'll just have to deal with it.
Grateful it will all come out in the wash.
Grateful I don't have to follow my family's secret rule book. I can make my own rules.
