I am grateful that my AD isn't drinking
My AD is now 7 months pregnant and is finally dealing with the consequences of her bad choices. She is living on public money, but she is searching for a job and a place to live with her baby. She goes to AA and despite the consequences (especially arrest warrants for shoplifting and public drunkenness) she hasn't resorted to getting drunk. The biggest problem is that her ex won't let her see her little girl. He wants her to resume paying child support, although he wasn't requiring that until he found out she is pregnant.
I feel ok about supporting her now, although I can't have her move in with me. I take care of another daughter's children and she isn't ready to forgive yet. I want my grandchild to be safe and cared for and I'm just praying she will be able to do that.
But I am extremely grateful that at least for the last 7 months she hasn't gone down the wrong road.
