I am grateful for Life
Last night on the way to work my alternator went out; I barely made it home. I was looking at a bill of $150 or more, which is quite a bit for me as I take home just over 1200 a month. Well, that ended up not being the case. After several phone calls to people in the rooms of AA that I have come to know and love these past few years, I now have a ride to go get an alternator for $60 and arrangements to have lunch.
I am posting this to say that I did not have to use or drink over this. I am grateful for the progress that I have made, for the fellowship which has been there for me and is there for me today, and for life itself. I have no control over what happens to me but I have total control of how I respond to it.
