I have been in lots of recovery for a long time.......but still experienced a panic attack a few days ago........ car wouldn't start, (spent $800. on it 6 weeks ago), cat missing ( fireworks scared him probably), old landlord called to say I left her fleas ( I offered to pay for exterminator- but it was embarrassing). So - calmed myself down with the steps and quiet meditation. I turned it all over- went on about my day....... Later- the cat comes home, car starts, and exterminator going today to old place. I am not in charge, I am not powerless. I am ok no matter what. I love the tools we have.
