I am grateful that I made it to the place I am. I never thought I'd get to the place to end it after 5 years of dealing with drunken behavior. I have been away from him 10 months and still have to see him, because of our child. It still hurts and I still wish he would have wanted me, a family over alcohol. But he doesn't.........I believe I will meet someone healthy. I am sad he didn't go up with me, instead of his path down. But I am grateful I saved me and my children from more misery of dealing with someone too afraid to let go of alcohol and live a good life.
