I know it's not nighttime yet, well where I am anyway, but I always post here so I'm popping in a little bit early. Have some reading to catch up on too!

I am very grateful that I now have my very own laptop! My friend fixes supposedly dead computers and gives them away free. And she got one for me! I am grateful for her two day tutorial in how to use it, too. She is super computer savvy and a great teacher so I got to learn a lot. (And I'll be super grateful if I remember it all, lol!)

I am grateful that I have temporary internet access at home now, too. I need to be here today!

I am grateful that a friend left an abusive relationship and that I and another friend were able to counsel and support her in cutting ties and not giving in to her "rescuer self" about her now ex-partner. (It's a long story I'm trying to put succinctly.)

I am grateful for the few day slip I just had because I got to see what using was like again and to relearn and remember that I do NOT want to go back to that life! I do not want to go back to active addiction. I'll be learning lots from this experience.

I am grateful to SR and all of you for being here! And I'm grateful I had the courage to post about my slip. And so grateful for all the supportive replies to my thread!

I am grateful for the righteous thunderstorm we had last night. Brilliant, sky brightening lightning, crackling and rumbling thunder, and heavy rainfall. The air is clear and smells wonderful, the plants are soaking up the nourishing water, everything is clean and fresh. Me too, I guess. The thunderstorm brings cleansing and nourishing changes for me too.

Last, I am grateful that even though my cravings are outrageous today, I DO want to stay in recovery!

Blessings!

Just reading through older posts and want to wish a belated Happy Birthday to Uncle Holmes! Fifty is my next birthday, too, so I feel ya! I think I'm looking forward to it although it will be so weird not to be in my forties anymore. However, I am looking forward to starting a whole new decade clean and sober.

I am grateful to continue to confront my boss and to not come home and drink like I used to.
Grateful I have a plan and know I will do whatever it takes to care for myself.
Grateful to be sober so that I know when I'm overdue for TLC.
Grateful that I am using stress to make me stronger.

I may have to get my LPs out of the basement or just download the London cast version to refresh my memory and sing along with.

Grateful for postponing a "discussion" (i.e., argument) with my brother. Glad I know I don't have get everything sorted out as it comes up. Most things can wait, right?

And grateful for a three hour midday nap with my kitty-boys crawling all over and around me. I may have to sleep more during the day when they're snugglier.

Love and hugs,

Grateful I had such a nice day with my brother. Grateful I unloaded 20 bags of mulch and my yard looks so nice and enjoyable. Grateful for the compliment my son who landscapes said about my yard Grateful I pretty much did it on my own which made me feel good

Grateful that I am using stress to make me stronger.
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace..

Grateful to talk to the gentlemen about this new job, and decided we will go forward...

If all goes well I will have a new job in a couple weeks.. As long as I keep my thinking out of the way..

Lyoness and everyone else, thanks for the birthday wish. I've got another birthday coming up. I'll let you know when.

Grateful to enjoy this nice weather and not be on a dry drunk and not enjoy it.

Grateful but also sad to hear the 1974 Eric Clapton song "I shot the sheriff" on the radio today. Around that time in the 70's our cat was missing for a few days. My mom was driving my brother and I to Elementary school in one of those big station wagons back then and we saw our cat dead in the middle of the road on a busy street. All of us were crying in the car. That Eric Clapton song just had to be playing on the radio during this scene.

I'm grateful for a nice, sober taco Tuesday. This is something I couldn't do even recently. I'm also grateful to be approachng the end of a challenging project at work--yay. Finally, I'm grateful I managed to finish last month's quilt block this evening. I'll start this month's block tomorrow. I suppose this also brings up a very important gratitude--my sweet husband who reads to me while I quilt. It makes for a very nice evening.

Grateful now to look forward to some puppy cuddling and an episode of the new version of Upstairs Downstairs.

Hi everyone. I think I posted here once before, I'd like to join you and post more often if I may because I think I've reached a stage in my recovery where I need to focus on gratitude more.

I'm grateful for being sober
I'm grateful for a lovely home.
I'm grateful for my health.
I'm grateful for one of our members posting today about relapse, it served as a warning to me and I appreciate his generosity.
And I'm grateful for SR.

Grateful that my friend offered me some work to fill in a cancelled appointment. The last couple weeks have been lean and difficult.

Oh, I know that awful feeling. I'm sorry it sounds like it still hurts, decades later.

Grateful I survived hauling my mom to two appointments with lunch at the hospital in between and going to the pharmacy after without breaking down. I even managed to tell my bro what he needed to know and escaped home without much ado. Whew!!

And grateful for a neighbor introducing me to her cat who hadn't let me pet him before. She gave me the 411 on all the tomcats on our blocks. Plus I formally met HER. Glad I learning to be more neighborly.

Love and hugs,
Eddie

Grateful I thought to buy Mothers day cards for all my sisters, friends and older widows I know who are Moms. I can't send my Mom a card... but I can make their day a little happier. And my Mom would like that a lot.

Grateful to understand, that life is for the living.
