I asked someone a few days ago the usual 'Hi, How are you?" expecting the usual "Oh just fine" or "ok". The answer I received stopped me in my tracks.
"I'm grateful" the person said. "I'm grateful".

Whenever I don't get caught up in the usual habitual response of "oh just fine", I say "I'm grateful". You'd be surprised at the smiles and nods of heads you'll get if you start responding to every "how are you?" with an "I'm grateful".

I am going to try and do that tomorrow and all the days after!

The things is I am very, very grateful but its never a response I would think of giving.

One day I hope someone asks 'why are you grateful?' - they will be there 2 days later by the time I am done!

HI Guys! I'm grateful! Grateful for this day, this afternoon and evening...the people that smiled at me and the grumpy guy at BJ's...the squirrels we caught and let go in a beautiful tree lined woodsy area. My dogs, birds, cat and my kids. I am grateful for this awesome day. Blessings to all
