Shock's Gratitude List
I'm grateful I saw my friend today at the meeting. I hadn't seen her yesterday and was concerned. In fact she had a hard day yesterday so we played catch-up.
Today I'm grateful my sense of humor is returning after taking too long of an absence. Its nice to wake up with a sore stomach from laughing so hard yesterday.
I'm grateful for the recording studio here in town. It was a nice surprise to watch the video of Clean (bare) by Depeche Mode (who else) and realize that there is a reason the room looks familiar. It is just across town.

After an extremely stressful past few days that culminated in breaking out with a rash I am grateful I was able to take a mental health break and enjoyed a few Concert DVDs by Depeche and U2.
Today I'm grateful my friend took me with him to the grocery store. I just needed to get out of my home and it was the perfect place to get away from it all. Now I'm ready to go to sleep.
Today I'm grateful for realizing that almost a year ago, when my mother lay dying my program was strong enough that when push came to shove my higher power kicked in over my selfish needs and desires and we were there for each other.
I'm grateful that as I prepare to move out of my home I am now comfortable enough with myself that I can listen to friends that care, not family members caught up in their own addiction.
Thanks for sharing a bit of your gratitude w/all of us. I especially like that song Clean. I have never heard of the singer or band before so it was a treat. Peace & blessings on your journey.
Today I'm so grateful to have the new Soulsaver's album on my mp3 players. Its one of those rare gems I was actually looking forward to.
There are a few good albums I look this forward to, last year's human league album was the last one. A lot of the songs are about the songwriter's view of spirituality in his recovery.

Today I'm grateful for being able to fix our Wi-Fi connection. Its nice to have this thing called the internet again.
Again I'm grateful for music about recovery. After playing Soulsavers yesterday it sent me on a mission and today I rediscovered Dave Gahan's Paper Monsters album.
It also reminds me how grateful I am to be where I am in my recovery instead of out using and drinking today. I do not want to be back there again. Spiritual bankruptcy was a very dark place to be.

I heard someone's story tonight and thought to myself that he had a really low bottom. Then I realized mine was almost parallel to his.
Wow was that an eye opener.
I am so grateful to be clean and sober.
And alive.

Gratitude is being tucked into a warm bed listening to Etta James sing Swing Low, Sweet Chariot.
