Grateful for:

1. Spending New Year's Eve and day with good friends
2. Resolving to take better care of my physical and emotional health this year - have already started getting some help with worry/anxiety, as life is TOO SHORT
3. My wonderful little four-legged girl who was such a good traveler this weekend and who at my request did not chase the geese, though it took every fiber of her being to resist
4. Time to spend with my mom - thinking about some special outings with her
5. The perspective to appreciate what I have rather than craving what I don't (though I do still want that new sofa, Fands!)
6. Going to the movies. I love to go to the movies!!!
7. Sobriety. Not having to worry about any of the things associated with drinking, and feeling good about my decision.
8. Experimenting in the kitchen. Love to try new things, especially with friends who don't mind my experiments. No disasters this holiday (so far)
9. Getting better at valuing my life enough to set more limits re work and the needs of others. I could give my whole life away if I don't take care of myself.
10. SR and all of you - you remind me of what's important and for that, I am very grateful!

Have a great first-Monday-of-2012, GP!

I've been lusting after a new sofa since i got sober, Sneeze!!! if only it would go on sale!!! or i could stop eating for 3 months, thus solving 2 problems at once...multi-tasking.

I love your sarcasm and inpurfections!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry I've been away - my modem died yesterday and had to get a new one this morning. Hate having no internet!

Grateful today for:

1. Being able to eat popcorn for dinner because I'm a grownup now.
2. Looking forward to the rest of the week off, whoo-hoo!
3. Seeing a great movie - The Descendants - with my heart-throb George Clooney. It will truly make you want to move to Hawaii.
4. My little canine vacuum cleaner. So nice not to have to worry about dropping food on the floor because it is gone in a nanosecond!
5. Coming into a warm house from this cold snap we're having. So homey.
6. Talking to the dog. She always agrees with me or at least if she doesn't, she doesn't feel the need to say so
7. Unsolicited help today from a friend.
8. Mocha latte coffee - mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

it's nice to be appreciated Sneeze...

i better start gratting now for the evening, cos i am conking out early these nights , besides we have to give HL something to read.

grateful that i am back on track with eating....and seem to have WW engraved on everything..makes it harder to eat fattening stuff.

grateful to be up sipping that coffee instead of staring at a bottle of booze, calling out of work and crawling into back to bed with a drink.

back later after some more coffee and starting the day.

Hey everyone

Grateful this Wednesday night for:

1. Cleaned out gutters - those HOA dues really do pay for a few things!
2. My plumber who came to maybe replace the garbage disposal and ended up fixing it and not charging me a dime. Now that's service and I will give them my business again and again.
3. A friend who is battling anxiety making some great progress today.
4. A warmer day and tomorrow will be warmer still
5. No thoughts of drinking. Pfftttt!
6. A friend's generosity ... of money and of spirit.
7. Breakfast at my favorite hole in the wall - veggie omelet, lots of good hot coffee, and the morning paper.
8. Really making a dent in my debt. It sure makes a difference when I actually pay attention to how much money I'm spending and make better decisions about how much and what I'm spending it on.
9. Netflix. Love love love Netflix, so many movies and tv shows to pick from and so convenient.
10. The GP! Sobriety! Health!

Night my buddies, sleep tight

Morning GP

Morning grats for:

1. This hazelnut cream coffee that is slowly waking me up.
2. The canine bed warmer that snuggled with me this morning.
3. My loving parents.
4. Finding an extra stash of patience yesterday when all my reserves were running dry.
5. Crispy bacon.
6. A wonderful former colleague who passed away over the holidays. She was one of the kindest people I've ever known.
7. Recoverywithfaith's words yesterday: I am a sober woman of value and worth. And we all are sober people of value and worth, a though worth holding onto.
8. Going to the movies on a weekday afternoon on a whim. One of my very favorite getaways.
9. Noticing that the wine aisles at the grocery store now seem like foreign territory instead of a comfort zone.
10. God's love and care, sobriety, the GP!

Happy Friday all

Morning GP -

I just lost almost my entire post!

Oh well - I think I remember most of it:

1. The willingness to take a risk - thinking of Fands and her upcoming blind date (I do hope you'll come back and tell us about it, girl?...) I'm not quite ready for that one, but I am getting some help with this anxiety and workaholism. Not sure that's exactly taking a risk, but it is opening up and disclosing, which can be hard for me.
2. Getting a full eight hours sleep - whoohoo!!!! I slept all through the night, and I'm pretty sure the dog did too - we must have needed it.
3. The sweet potato-pear soup I made yesterday. Sounds a little odd but it was really delicious.
4. The weather getting warmer - I think I'll take my four-legged girl to the park today.
5. The first cuppa in the morning. I swear I can feel the caffeine coursing through my veins.
6. The ring my mom gave to me. My dad gave it to her years ago and now she can't wear it because she has become allergic to gold. It makes me think of them both whenever I wear it.
7. Knowing that spring is coming. Don't want to rush it but I do love spring, it's my favorite season. Though I sure do hope we have a good snowfall soon, we haven't had any yet this year.
8. This time off work to breathe and rest. It is doing me a world of good. I thought about working on some home projects I've been putting off, but then I realized that sometimes it's more important to be than to do. Like now.
9. Old friends who stay in touch across time and space. Such a comfort.
10. God's love and care. Having SR to come to every day and the great people here. Hope!

Have a great day, my buddies
