Grateful that I am sober enough to not get irritated when Carol's link the last one leads to this same page, when I can, since I am sober, now go and grab the right one so easily and put it here: http://www.soberrecovery.com/forums/...t-25-a-20.html

Grateful for a great sponsor, who is finally back in town after a two-week trip.
Grateful for one more night in my apartment.
Grateful for the ability to fall apart today and to have the arms of someone who cares about me.
Grateful for getting to play a baby grand piano today.
GRATEFUL FOR MY SOBRIETY!
Grateful for my Mom and that she's okay after a medical scare yesterday.
Grateful that I suddenly, after 40 days of sobriety, find myself naturally folding newly-cleaned laundry and putting it away instead of sleeping next to or under a wrinkling pile of clothes.
Grateful for my little (big) guinea pig.
Grateful for a meaningful conversation with Janie about changes in life and what to make of them.
Grateful for thinking of this to write in my journal: I am going to start making some of the changes I want to make so I don't keep getting the changes I don't want to make.
Grateful for a higher power of my misunderstanding.
Grateful that the band at the art gallery downstairs stopped playing five minutes after I got home.
Grateful for the Serenity Prayer, and for the knowledge that anger and frustration can often be traced immediately back to specific resentments; and that those can often be addressed through that prayer.
Grateful to have a place to post a list like this and a blog where prying eyes won't see.
Grateful for my First Step work.
Grateful for wrapping this list up and going, shortly, to bed sober.

D

Grateful for present friends, and for old friends who passed on. Grateful for the experience they've shared.

Awesome post on the last part of this thread, Threshold. Thank you so much for sharing!! BUt give yourself a little credit; you DID think of an alternative to using. You and HP make a great team!

And THANKS, Itchy, too, for the link!!

And...AnodyneShift, thanks as well for your post!! As they say, if nothing changes, nothing changes.

Grateful tonight for my Anorexics and Bulimics Anonymous sponsor way out in Texas. She called me back this evening and we had a really good talk. I am so glad I found her.

Also grateful that I had my wits about me enough to call said sponsor when I had a low blood sugar episode that could have led me to binge big time. I guess I do know how to use some tools sometimes. Thanks, Power GReater!!

Love and hugs,
Eddie

P.S. I don't say enough about this on this thread, so I feel I should say how grateful I am to be over 8 & 1/2 years clean from shooting dope and drinking. The eating disorder became a substitute for the chemicals, but today I am clean and sober all the way around...FINALLY. Just over five months "sober" from my ED. Hallelujah!

It's not bedtime yet but I'm so very grateful to my shrink's office staff for finding me some zoloft samples to tide me over until I get my check in October. Last week I found out firsthand how awful sudden withdrawal from zoloft can be. Grateful to my shrink for helping me thru this coming week.

Grateful for finally getting back to a face-to-face 12-Step meeting. I went to CoDependents Anonymous (CoDA) this evening and it was well worth the trip...as always.

And grateful that I'm able to be proactive in trying to get my dad an evaluation for dementia. The place his doc's office referred him to wasn't going to see him until at least January, so I called the doctor back and said that wasn't acceptable and asked if Dad could go somewhere else. They're going to get back to me, but I'm glad I'm being pushy (even though Dad tells me not to be).

Love and hugs,
Eddie
