Summer Gratitude

I'm grateful that the school year has to end soon and then I can sleep.

I'm grateful that I keep recovering from my own stupidity.

I'm grateful for my flawed but infinitely patient husband who is, as we speak, feeding my horse in a rainstorm.

I'm grateful for the green ness of our home.

I'm grateful that my sister is checking in on me -- without asking too much.

I'm grateful that we were able to offer interviews to some of our part time faculty in our current job search.

I'm grateful, as seems so often the case that it is almost bedtime for me.

Grateful the May flies have hatched and are long gone.
Grateful for the sound of the frogs in the wetland near my home.
Grateful for the water irises in bloom at the shoreline
Grateful the hummingbirds are back.
Grateful to be able to walk the dog without sliding on ice or without wearing ice creepers.

IT'S SUMMER!!!!!!!!!!!!

Grateful that the summer brings people outdoors again so I can see the faces that were locked inside all winter.

Grateful for the easy, spontaneous get-togethers that happen out of the blue.

Grateful for that morning cup of coffee enjoyed on the front porch as the rabbits, birds and squirrels get busy with their daily work.

Grateful for the glow of tiki lights and the outdoor firepit at night on a mosquito-free evening.

Makes it all seem worth it!
