Frances, I am a writing freelancer too (part-time)! Congratulations on your new gig! One of the things I noticed in recovery is that I was able to negotiate in my interest much more effectively (less paranoia and anxiety, I guess) and I was also able to manage my work much more effectively, as you say, with calm instead of panic. And, I no longer have to worry about when the checks will come because I'm finally solvent also as a result of quitting! I'm glad to hear about your news and you are totally right about how much more manageable it will be!

Grateful yesterday was a gold star day. Grateful for Carol's comment about today being unique. Yes, that is a beautiful way to think about it. Grateful I got decent sleep and have energy to work today.

This morning I am grateful for the realization that I am a completely different person today than I was this time last year. The distance I have journeyed in soon to be a year seems as far as from here to the moon.

Have an amazing day everyone!

Still feeling grateful for Carol's quote about the uniqueness of each day...this certainly applies to yesterday when I had my daughter's last middle school graduation awards ceremony (they grow up SO fast). Oh yeah, and we found a dead kitty in our yard, the poor thing. I said a prayer for it's feline soul, wrapped it gently in a bag, and contacted the proper authorities who will pick it up today. Here's hoping there is no other day exactly like it

Grateful for a new month

Grateful for my coffee and tea

Grateful for my family

Grateful for the hope that this weather will eventually return to normal...we have rain in the forecast again this weekend, aaarggghhh...

Grateful for all my blessings, big and small

Have a great grateful day all!

THIS. So glad and happy for you.

It's incredibly helpful and inspiring to hear what's possible in recovery.
I've been high-functioning all along but miserable on the inside.

GRATEFUL I CAN DO THIS with grace and ease and purpose and calm and confidence. I will plan how much I will do each day for the next eight days and turn it in with ease next Thursday morning.

Grateful for the sobriety that got me here. I needed to think fast and act fast yesterday and I did. Three months ago, my leaky brain would have sent me to panic rather than action.

GRATEFUL.
Congratulations frances!!! Your post made me smile from ear to ear. I love the idea of visualizing what you want to happen, rather than what you may fear. That's usually my default strategy, so I will remember this and learn from it!

Good luck with the job and let us know how it goes!

Grateful I woke up all nervous about "getting it all done--what if what if" and deciding I am NOT going to indulge in panic & worry, I'm just going to write a list and start doing my work. HP, this one's for you.

Grateful for this mindset.

Grateful the heat broke last night.

Have a good morning gp'ers!

Grateful this morning that I confidently signed up for two volunteer days at the school... and didn't even think, will I or will I not be drinking. I gotta love this... my little person is always so happy when I help at school. This time it is for field trips. Such fun.

great news Frances!!!! Now you can buy the couch of your dreams!

grateful for another shiney new day, and shiney new chances!
grateful to be off from work today and have an action plan to get stuff done!

I have my mental list ofthings to do and will not waste the beautiful day...I have done that too many times and can never get that time back...but I will do my best today to make my life better and productive.

grateful that i slept well and am eating well, remembering to drink my fluids, and take my meds, vitamins.

time to crack the whip on myself to get moving!

Grateful for remembering that living a grateful life is something you make a conscious decision to do...it doesn't just happen

Grateful to remember that thought without action is pointless and action without thought is stupid...preparing a thoughtful action plan this week!

Newby!!! I thought about you yesterday - thought I remembered you were going to MA. Glad everything's OK.

Frances - congrats on the new gig!

Grateful for a cool, blustery day after the stagnant, humid few days behind me.

Grateful for an unexpected guest this morning to share coffee with on the porch, and the resultant play date for the dogs. Too cute; big dog and little dog playing.

Grateful for determination to follow through today and let the outcome fall in HP's hands without relinquishing responsiblility for the work.

Have a good one, all...........
