grateful for waking up today rested and ready for work.
and simply AMAZED that alcohol or any related thought on sobriety did not even occur to me until I was awake for 3 hours????
to me this means i am functioning like a real sober person, not some obsessive fool.....i am filling my head with normal thoughts that are totally unrelated to drinking or alcohol.

I'm grateful that the tornadoes that went through the tri-state area yesterday, completely missed my house. Trees down every where. Power lines down, and alot of chaos, and everything is well in my neighborhood.
Good morning everyone:
I am grateful for the little things in life that are often taken for granted, when they should deserve our highest gratitude.
Ralph explains it well...
For each new morning with its light,
For rest and shelter of the night,
For health and food, for love and friends,
For everything Thy goodness sends.
~Ralph Waldo Emerson
Love you all and have a great Saturday!!!

good Saturday morning! sober saturday!
very grateful for 8 full hours of wonderful restful SLEEP last night...(people who suffer with chronic insomnia can really relate to this)...i feel 10 years younger and almost look it too.
If i hadKNOWN that real continued sobriety was the magic key to sleeping a full night i probably would have stopped dinking 10 years ago....
but i am so grateful to have had the best restful sleeping pattern in the last few months.

I am grateful
1. I slept through the night.
2. I woke up hungry and ate.
3. That i'm strong enough today to go to confession, I have'nt been in 20 years. I have been wanting to go for a few years now and this evening I'm going.
4. Grateful that my son is going to spend the night at my parents so I can go to an aa meeting, take a hot bath, watch a movie, get to bed earlier and sleep nice.
5. grateful I feel so happy, so peaceful, so content.

Today I am extremely grateful for my son's recovery. Last night I put my cell phone on the charger, and my son called. I was sad that I missed his call, but he left me a message. His message brought so much peace and happiness to my heart. He was laughing, and having fun with my sister and brother inlaw in Florida, and then at the end of the message he was laughing hysterically while clowning around with my brother inlaw, and while he was laughing he said I gotta go, I just called to tell you I love you Ma. And to hear the real joy coming out of my son for the first time in a long time, made me feel so thankful. I saved that message and played it over and over today. Each time I smiled, and said, Thank You GOD for answering my prayers, and giving me my boy back. I have my real son back. I am so grateful.
