I am greatful for eleven days sober, I am greatful for my wonderful husband who has stood by my side through all of these horrible times I have put him through, and I am very greatful for all you wonderful people on this site who also help me to stay sober!
Grateful for...
Today was an okay day!
We have an "orphan" AA meeting in town, Saturday afternoon...I can't even remember the name of it ("12th step group" maybe?)
I showed up, kinda blue, unshaven, hair mussy (but stylish! ).
I was asked to chair!
Read from "More About Alcoholism", cracked a few jokes, everybody shared, and the meeting ended right on time!
A few people said how happy they were to see me chairing. A dear lady gave me a long hug at the end. After the meeting, my sponsor shared some stuff he has been experiencing - gave me such hope!
Alcoholics helping each other.
My friends.
I also carried my AA medallion in my pocket for focus during the day (if my thoughts started going to a dark place, I would hold on to it). Got this idea from Astro - thanks Scott.
One side of the coin reads "Easy Does It" & "First Things First". Think about it.
The other side is engraved with my home group, name, and sobriety date (December 17, 2007). Wow!
Anyway...another day, one day at a time.
Gotta keep strong for my family.
Rambling...goodnight everyone!

ashleek ...Grateful to see you here with us
Well done on your early sober time...
(((Gravity))) The meeting needed a chair
you needed the meeting......Viola!......
I too carry my current medallion every day.
I certainly agree that it's a really good reminder
Grateful I had the phone and SR today....
my usual rides did not work out....I missed a meeting.
Thank y'all for being here....

67 days. The personal growth and new level of maturity I have achieved. That I know im not faking the previous
stament. That I will screw up again, but it's ok and I will learn from it and not relapse with mind altering substances. The opportunity to renew a constructive loving relationship with my Parents. My girlfriend, who I may eventually plan an intervention for of some kind. That I will have a job by the end of the
week.

No thanks necessary grav, I'm just grateful we can share and pass along the traditions and practices we use to bring us a little peace and serenity during those dark moments.
There's an oldtimer at our homegroup who hands out marbles to some of the newcomers...... cuz ya never wanna lose that last marble!
I'm grateful to the kind and competent nurses and doctors who fixed up Ms. Astro last night. She had an allergic reaction, I'm really thankful it didn't turn out to be more serious.
