Thought about other old timers today that have influnced my life One day at a time........ funny thing about those that have gone to a better life and left the rest of us to carry on the message to the younger ones....

Keep coming back is all it really takes..... and getting to the meetings where you can talk and listen to what others have to say....

I find meetings help me bring the message back home in my mind and from there I write in my journal about how life is going for me with my own recovery...... it really works if you work it.......

Grateful for all I have learned in AA.....

Grateful that I still have Recovery to back up my life.....

grr

define old!!

After a few 24 hours in AA, I enjoy watching as well as helping a new commer get their life back on track. This is a we program. No mention of I anywhere.

Every time, I see someone new coming into a meeting, every time I see someone that went out and and is coming back in again, I'm reminded of why, I stay in AA

We all have a bit of "old" in us no matter how we feel....

I look at it in a way as showing the young ones how life really is these days........ I don't think it really matters how old you are....

I feel as young as I was years ago ....especially when in HS.....

But you can take it anyway you want today....

Just keep dusting off the house within and work what the program has given me is all I need to do each day and pass on what I have learned to help the new comers...........because life will continue no matter what...

Grateful today for just being here..... and spreading the news ..

Grateful for all the friends in Recovery.....:ghug2

Nogard... you are real funny....

I have gotten pretty far with my recovery after all these years and I am glad to be here to help anyone else....

I just dust off the dust from my shoulder and sit down to listen to the great stories going around the table....

I am not as old as some may think.....I came into this recovery program when I was young....and today I am still young at heart plus so much more....

Old Timers to me are those that have hung out in meetings a long time and have years of experience under their belt....

Then again ...I have seen some old people with loads of time under their belts and they have lots to say to the young.....

I learned lots from them and found out most of them knew my dad.... what an experience that was to sit and listen to them..... My dad is probally having the best time with them now that he has passed on ....and the Old Timer have passed on as well.... But I still think about them and ask God to give them a message from little me......

Life does go on for the rest of us and that means we are to carry the message to others that still suffer today.....

Hugs to everyone.......
