Morning Gratitude through the Night! part eight
After reading a horrible sad story in the Times about women and kids in Zimbabwe fleeing to South Africa... and being robbed and raped on the way... I'm grateful beyond measure for me and my kids safe lives.

Grateful that this was the first place I went to when I logged on to the computer this morning. It was automatic!
My email, Facebook and Myspace have definitely taken a back seat. Thank God, because I need to break that bad habit.

I believe that too, least. Each day is full of experiences, successes & challenges -we learn and we grow. We can't re-live our past failures over & over - just move forward, each day a clean slate, a new 24 hours to be grateful for.
The past is gone. Each day is new. It's nice to look back at my sober days but what I do today is what is important. What am I going to do for my sobriety today? Living in the mistakes of my past or in fear of the future only brings anxiety. All we have is today, we are all the same.
Least, believe that there are better days ahead. You have lived those good days, when everything seems just right. It's within your grasp.

One Day at a Time
When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit-
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.
Success is failure turned inside out -
The silver tint in the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It might be near when it seems afar;
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit -
It's when things seem worst that you must not quit.
