There is a song that I really love that has the words: "Sometimes the hardest thing and the right thing are the same". Since I quit drinking, these words have gotten me though some very tough times.

Tonight, I made my first formal amend...to my wife. She said "Please keep doing what you are doing." I said "Yes, I will. Always."

The right thing.

Thank you, L!!

Grateful tonight that someone called to remind me of the women's Step Study this evening which I had totally forgotten about (since it wasn't at my house this time). I was already involved in doing something with my mom, but it still felt good to know that they were thinking about me.

And grateful for the Schick Intuition shaver. Those things are great! I'll leave it at that.

I think I'm going to try to work on my Step One now, since I didn't do it earlier when I was "supposed to." Y'all have a good one!!

Love and hugs,
Eddie

Grateful that I am feeling better in myself today
Grateful to be doing something different today and getting a fresh perspective on things
Grateful to have got up early so that I have time to get ready and drink coffee before I get going! It avoids the "two pests of hurry and indecision" !!!

Although I sit here in pain today on the couch from internal hemorroids (bleeding like crazy) and worn out from my procedure yesterday.....Truly Grateful my tumor is gone from my colon!

I am grateful for the eleventh step prayer. Grateful I can seek to understand what others are going through instead of trying to get what I think I need.

Very happy for you Rella. Take good care of yourself.

Yesterday: My first formal amend.

Today: Two amends to people who have passed away. 3rd time chairing a meeting (shared some wisdom from an SR member. Alcoholics helping each other - from Detroit to our little meeting room). Agreed to sponsor another alcoholic - first time.

It's really is not all about me...but what I receive in return is just incredible. Just so grateful for my sobriety and the courage to keep moving forward.

That's Mah-velous, Rella!! I bet you're really relieved, huh?

I'm thankful for a really good talk with one of the doctors from my Caduceus meeting. It was pretty brief, but I hadn't seen him lately because he went to treatment in Alabama around the time I came back from treatment in Mississippi. I'm grateful to know him, that he helped me find the Caduceus group, and that he said he'd give me a call when he gets back for good.

And I'm grateful for a second day without a nap. I think the little kitty is already somewhat less nocturnal, so I seem to be getting more sleep at night.

Speaking of sleep at night, off I go.
Love and hugs,
Eddie

(((rella)))

I am NOT grateful that one of the little kitties at my house fell off the table and tried to stop herself by sliding down my leg with her claws out...

I am grateful that they are getting bigger and almost ready to go to their forever family.

Grateful for a beautiful, fall weekend.

I am also very grateful for my children. We took a long walk on the nature trails. They were so excited, it was such an adventure for them. I could almost remember what it was like, being amazed by the simple beauty and wonder of nature.

To quote Britney Spears: Oops, I did it again! Sorry I missed last night. I was IN bed when I remembered, but at least I did my written 10th Step questions, so I did express some gratitude there.

Hope that all had a good weekend and have a good week, too!!
Love and hugs,
Eddie
