Keep praying please... I am desperate for a miracle....

eddie z. 08-29-2008 07:28 AM

I will keep your friend in my :c016: .
Try not to :e052: too much, OK, L?

And also keep my friend, C, and his partner, D, in your prayers. We just found out yesterday that D has a brain tumor. This is very sad news. I really love both of them and D is still a fairly young man.

Love and hugs,
Eddie :brain

Grateful for a long talk with a good friend.

Grateful to remember that what I "see" out there is
only a reflection of what I "see" in here.

Grateful to have moments when I love what is, whatever it is.

grateful for all of our 24's

gravity 08-30-2008 08:26 PM

Well that was a bit of a bizarro day!

Nothing really planned, a bit of "poor me", little things annoying the heck out of me.

But I really did use my program and was laughing at myself more than once. And for the most part I managed to :tapedshut. This is NOT how I would have acted in my pre-AA past. Progress...:)

And on the positive side:

I went to 2 great AA meetings (someone asked me to go to the second meeting and he didn't show up :worried:).
Took my kids to the beach for a couple of hours.
Had a great workout.

I had a good day, a sober day. I have no reason to complain.

A lesson learned: When I'm thinking too much, go check out an AA meeting - serious talk, serious laughs, understanding, my friends.

Grateful.

Well, I missed posting my gratitude list again last night. And it was the 3rd night I didn't do my 10th Step thingy. I'm going to get back on track today, though. The past few days have been kind of tough because kitty Mariann was so ill that we finally had her put to sleep yesterday. I miss her so much already. :kitty: But I'll be back tonight to express my gratitude. Have a great Sunday!!

Love and hugs,
Eddie :brain

****** miss z }}}

grateful, for another day...

eddie z. 08-31-2008 08:21 PM

Many many thanks, folks! I truly appreciate your messages.

I am thankful for a fairly productive day. I filled out a couple of job applications, deleted a bunch of ancient emails, and started exhuming my dresser out from under a pile of papers that had been accumulating since we moved in here over a year and a half ago.

I am also thankful for a rather calm day with my husband. We had a good long talk last night and I think maybe we're finally learning how to work together. Hey, it's only taken eleven and a half years. lol.

Now I'm going to see if I can get Remy or Agatha to snuggle with me. Sleep well, all!!
Love and hugs,
Eddie :brain

grateful for the new rebuilt home group meeting that started tonight...

grateful for a recovery backyard Bar-B-Q todayhttp://zuppija.com/images/smiles/barbecue.png

Grateful tonight for a nice visit & supper with my father-in-law and sister-in-law. She is a really good and adventuresome cook, so I always enjoy it when she is in the kitchen. Plus we got to play with her kitties and bring home a bunch of food.

Also grateful for finding my old Rolodex and putting it to a new use. It used to hold address cards and I've had it probably since college, but I dug it out of a box in the basement and bought business card sleeves to put in it. I was going to buy a new one until I saw how much they cost and remembered I had one I could use already. Can you believe a little Rolodex costs $20-40 dollars or so? Unreal.

My eyelids are drooping. Hasta luego!
Love and hugs,
Eddie :brain

Grateful for brownie mix. (I mean, the brownies are so good, it only takes 5 minutes and it's only a DOLLAR- there was a sale!)

For modern communication. My SO is far away but we can talk often.

That my SO didn't toss my cats off the Huey P. Long bridge out of NOLA in the evacuation... even though one of them peed at least once, before starting the 2 hour trip over the bridge.

Grateful I don't have to move for 5 months.
