Grateful for the dream I had last night. Setting: A bar. Bartender puts a shot of whiskey in front of me...Coke chaser~ (YUM!) I touched the little shot glass. Pushed it back to the bartender. I said "No."
Upon waking I told my husband about it.
Memory of the dream stayed with me today....day forty-something. It helped me because I spend the day at the lake...came home...spent the day in and near our pool. These are places I could not imagine being near without my vodka and chaser.
So grateful~

Thank you Carol. You were one of the kind people who answered my first post on December 17. Gave me hope when I had none. You have touched so many lives. A part of my recovery, one day at a time. Grateful for an awesome lady.

Uh-oh, I missed Carol's special day :sorry
I'm grateful that Carol welcomed me to SR in 2006, and that she continues to be a daily inspiration to my recovery. What an amazing lady she is!

Spent the morning with my sponsor, my friend. Driving in the country. Helped him make an amend to a dear person who passed away.
Spent the afternoon at a small family gathering. Laughing, being myself.
Took the kids to a movie tonight. More laughs and love.
Just when I think my life can't get any better, that I am happy with (and grateful for) everything as it is, I have a day like today.
Grateful for everything I have been blessed with.

I am grateful that I read gravity's post just now!
I am grateful to be sober today.
I am grateful for a wonderful and caring group of sober friends with whom I spent Saturday night into Sunday morning with.
I am grateful for the pain I went through on Saturday, for hopefully one day I can help another person going through the same pain.
I am grateful for my sister and niece.
I am grateful for the people on this website who continually read my ranting and whining and still offer words of encouragement and hope!

Grateful that I'll have 9 days to spend with my kids on vacation next week. Now that's the best Father's Day gift I could be blessed with!
