For Those of You Who Knew Ann
 

We learned this morning that Ann passed away last evening. Ann joined SR in 2002 when she was seeking support for dealing with her son who was lost in addiction. She found deep friendships here that have lasted all those years and she found the strength and grace to deal with her son's addiction. She was able to save herself and was a beacon of hope for all Moms of addicted children. We are so blessed to have known and loved her. Rest in Peace beautiful Ann.

Ann was the sweetest, kindest person. She was always upbeat and never dwelled on the negative. She was always so encouraging to everyone. She loved nature and always felt best when she could go out and be amongst her birds and wildlife. She shared so many pictures she had taken of eagles, swans, ducks, egrets...she even loved alligators.

This is a tough one. I don't think there is another person I've only known over the internet who I cared about so much.

When I heard she was gone, I felt that the world should have stopped turning. :( I love you Ann - your wit, your wisdom, your kindness. You have been a good friend to me over the years and I will miss you terribly. :( You left a big impression on my heart. :hug:

Through tears, I smile, to have known Ann, albeit over the internet.She taught us so many things. to deal with life’s problems with grace, and humor when possible.
was there ever such an awesome lady- I think not. Talented, kind , so , so funny!
I will be thinking of so many special things she shared, mostly through tears, as we all will, no doubt. Just too much to lose this dear dear lady.
we don’t have any choice but to go on, but we owe it to her to do it with grace and support for each other.

Oh my goodness, no.

Ann was a lighthouse at SR. She leaves a void that cannot be filled. It reminds me of this quote by Henry David Thoreau: “On the death of a friend, we should consider that the fates through confidence have devolved on us the task of a double living, that we have henceforth to fulfill the promise of our friend's life also, in our own, to the world.”

May we all strive to fulfill Ann's promise to the world.

Ann was the best of the best....prayers for her family.

I'm seriously in shock, a fellow Canadian I was getting along very well with her.
I'll miss her a lot in the "Lighter Side" from Recovery Follies, she was very funny.

Ann was a true lady and a beautiful person, inside and out. She's going to leave a huge void here but I know that she would want us to carry on in the best way we can and support each other.
Prayers for her beloved Bubba who will be bereft without her.

I'm utterly heartbroken. She got me through some very dark days when I first came here. I never expected to find one of my closest friends on a forum - but I will miss her the rest of my life.

I didn't really know Ann but I felt like I did a little, I was always glad to see her posts, so smart so kind so generous and wise. Such a lovely person.
