Mother needs support
I declined, said thank you for asking me, but explained that I need to be confident that he is clean, and can sustain it. Every time he relapses, I become the target of abuse and threats - not this time sunshine!
Bute, well said. I don't know how or why we one day wake up and have reached our "enough" point, but it happens and when it does it's like God poked us in the ribs and said "Get out of MY way"
Ever since I turned the care of my son over to God, I have not stressed or lost sleep or even been a teeny weeny bit tempted to join the circus again. I wish I knew that letting go meant nothing more than...letting go of the illusion that anything I said or did or didn't say or didn't do would change anything except my own health. I am free. I pray that one day my son finds this same road.

Bute: Hugs to you as well!
Wishing you continued strength and praying that your son will seek health, wellness and recovery.
Sometimes it would be easier just to go along to get along but we moms know that under the circumstances, it is wise to stand back, to choose to observe and to not absorb and to not get on the crazy train with our kids.
ODAT, friend.
