I am grateful for PJ's teeth too, and that I don't have to share mine.

Borrowed from my friend Daisybelle...

I read a blog entry by Megan McArdle today, I love her writing. It is part of her Rules of Life, a good one I think.

This part jumped out at me and poked me in the ribs. Ouch!

Be grateful. No matter how awful your life seems at the moment, you have something to be grateful for. Focus on it with the laser-like, single-minded devotion of a dog eyeing a porterhouse.

You have been granted 2 billion seconds on this planet, give or take. You are a billionaire! Many billionaires, however, squander most of their fortune on bitter recriminations about how unfair everything is. Many of them are right, and it really is unfair. But you won’t get a refund from the universe for the time you spent brooding about the unfairness. You lose them just as surely as a second spent experiencing joy, only they don’t even give you something nice to remember them by.

For my continued, albeit hard struggle at times (not booze- my brain) recovery.

Blue whales do not have teeth.

Perhaps they need dentures?

Today I am grateful for December and the lights and beauty of the holidays. In the darkest month it is uplifting to see lights of joy and celebration.

Ohhhh, I am so thankful to be all moved in. What a past few days. I am so thankful for such good friends that went above and beyond to help me!

(Ann, I still have a lot of unpacking to do.....and because I know how much you wanted to help, I am saving some just for you. )

Gee, LMN, I'd love to but flights are mostly canceled at our airport here because of stinking winter snow that I am NOT grateful for.

Congratulations on your new place, this is such a wonderful example of how your recovery has brought you to sunshine and joy of days ahead.

I am grateful today for a warm home, a pot roast that will simmer all day and a good book to amuse myself while the snow outside turns to sunshine this afternoon.

And I suspect he is very proud of you too, PJ.

Today I am grateful for quiet drives in nature. I will have one today and I know I will be surprised how many wonderful things I see, wild turkeys? deer? red foxes? snowy owls? and lakes and water all around. All I have to do is show up and let nature happen. Thank you God.

I am sooooo grateful for my friends. I came home from work yesterday and so much was done for me. So glad I left my doors unlocked, lol.

I am grateful that I texted my daughter a picture of me and Santa the other night, It opened up a great dialogue.

I am so grateful that I had some extra money for Giving Tuesday. It felt good to give back.

LMN, I am so glad you are moved in and will be settled for Christmas.

A little housewarming gift, appropriate because now the only nuts who live in your house are the ones you can crack.

Excellent words of advice for me to scoop up and think on this morning.

Many thanks for the prayers, ladies. I am on the mend. I couldn't be more grateful to have made it to this point without major problems. ODAT. TBTG

For passing Life Drawing at the School of Art- very frustrating and challenging for me. I was deeply sad I cannot share with my family, but grateful I know what to do (the HALTS stuff). Life goes on.
