Smile $60

My son continues to do well with vivitrol, he's continuing an out patient counseling program, and yesterday he was offered a full time job, doing something he loves. Also yesterday, a friend who works in construction told son that his crew is working a big project and needs extra help over the weekend, so son worked today (and will work tomorrow) for friend. He came home from this laborer position and handed me three twenty dollar bills! Since he's per diem for this job, they paid him cash... and he gave most of it to me, "because I owe you so much, mom, and now I can start paying you back."

It's one day at a time, and today was the best day!

Cherry Vanilla,

Very late to this party, congratulations to your son!

Talk about projecting.............I saw "$60" as your post title and assumed that he was trying to borrow $60. In my locale, those who are addicted to pills are always seeking money in multiples of $30. since 30mg Oxy is $ 30. on the street!

Keep coming back,

Jim

I wanted to click THANKS on all of your responses, but on the mobile version, I don't see how to do so, but thanks!! Son completed his first week working full time and I can see he's feeling proud of himself. And... Handling the delayed gratification, since he won't see a paycheck til mid next week. Only asked to borrow enough to gas up the car til payday and has been brown-bagging lunch. His goal is to move to his own apartment in 6-12 months, taking that time to pay off credit card debts and build a savings account. I am praying SO HARD that this is his turning point and the beginning of his best years ahead!!
