Rediscovering old favorite books

This quote is really speaking to me today. I forgot how much I loved this book as a kid...and now it's unbelievably relevant today:

“Not hope that he would be rescued--that was gone. But hope in his knowledge. Hope in the fact that he could learn and survive and take care of himself. Tough hope, he thought that night. I am full of tough hope.”

I love that too. Tough hope is a kinder version of tough love, and let's the other person learn for themselves how to find what they need to live well.

Thanks for posting this.
