OT: Baby raptor diversion
OT: Baby raptor diversion
SR Friends,
This is a lovely diversion for me, and I thought I'd share it with you. And we do have some other bird lovers here, and even a duck (be careful, Vale!) These eagles were born a little earlier than usual, so they are a bit bigger for this time of year. The momma eagle comes once or twice a day with food. One of the babies seems to have trouble sharing.
The leaves are coming out. It's spring! Enjoy.

I love watching eagle cams. I've been watching several for about four years now. It's so hard to not get attached, but experience has taught me that life in the wild is very hard and about half don't make it to adulthood. I still love to watch me some bobble heads, though.

They're like...so wonky looking but so cute!!
Anyone who thinks bald eagles are always majestic & amazing has never seen an Alaskan eagle who's so fat from eating spawned salmon that it can't be bothered flying, though.

Says the duck!!
I too am an eagle cam fan, I think eagles are the most majestic birds of all and it tickles me to watch their eggs turn into babies and the babies turn into full fledged eagles.
We know you would, Vale. That's why there aren't any DUCK cams!
Yesterday after I watched the eagles online, I walked outside (I live in a city) and right overhead flew a bald eagle. I am so grateful these birds were saved from DDT extinction. I never saw one as a child, and now I find them everywhere.
