Weird phrasing question
My STBXAH walked out on us 2 weeks ago, but last time I spoke with him (over a week ago, now), he insisted that he was clean & "not doing anything wrong".
However, his brother apparently saw him a few days ago. The brother sent my FIL a text message saying that he had seen STBXAH and "he was all detoxed".
In my mind, that specific phrasing of the sentence would suggest that STBXAH had at one point a) been with or seen his brother prior and b) was in NEED of detoxing at that point because he's been using again.
Or, I suppose it could just mean that according to his brother, he's clean & has been.
Anyone else care to weigh in? (It's not as if it particularly matters, since I am filing for divorce as we speak, but I'm curious as to how I should interpret that.)
