Status on My Niece So I texted with my niece earlier today. She picked up her 90 day coin the other day. On the one hand, I'm really, really proud of her because I understand that it's not easy to not drink, and she's committed herself to AA. She's always had a common sense streak in her, and I think she understand that if she goes back to the life she was living before rehab, she wouldn't be long for this world. On the other hand, I also know how these things can go. She's not out of the woods yet. But for now, she's doing really, really well. Thank God. |
It's okay to be cautiously optimistic. :) |

It's okay to be cautiously optimistic. :) Short term, I recognize that one moment of weakness means she's back where she started. I'm too much of a realist to think otherwise. That said, she's doing well today. And I'm thankful for that. |
That's wonderful news! |
She is not out of the woods, but she sure is making great progress. I am so happy to hear this Zoso!!! |
She may not be out of the woods, but so far so good. Glad to read that. |
I am very proud of her and will not lose the joy in today by worrying sbout tomorrow. One day at a time, I am cheering her on. She has a wonderful mentor in you, Zoso, by example you are a beacon of light. Go Niece!! |

That said, I think she's heartened that she's got a family member who understands what she has to deal with. |
I agree that she is not out of the woods, but if she wants to be out of the woods, and is looking for her best path out, then that is wonderful to hear. |
