the most comforting thing anybody has ever said to me about my AS
From a longtime friend when I confided in her about my AS's most recent turn for the worse and my despair that meth will probably kill him:
"He may not recover--in this lifetime."
No disagreement about the probable outcome or any Pollyanna hope, just a reminder that God paints on the canvas of eternity.
This same friend wrote a prayer for my AS that I have prayed every day for years. I've posted it before, but here it is again:
Gracious God of power and love,
you move the stars in the sky.
With the power that is yours alone,
move the heart and soul and mind of your precious child, N.,
that he may embrace healing and wholeness
and move with you and your power and strength
through the darkness into Light.
May he find you and your love and forgiveness so great a Goodness
that he will live in your light and love and be a blessing to all who know him.
With gratitude and love for this child, N.
