24 yo AS graduates from rehab tmrw

My son is graduating from the Salvation Army court ordered rehab tmrw and was told today tmrw is he can leave which wasn't to be until November 19. He has plans to move to Idaho with my nephew and they will be leaving in about a week. I'm not thrilled of this graduation. He has manipulated the system their until he got caught. He has used drugs while in there. It's really a terrible rehab facility more like a halfway house. He literally roamed for 8 hr days on daytona beach. What addict wouldn't slip there without necessary tools. I'm not afraid of his manipulation to me but I really feel torn as to bringing him back until he leaves. One part of me wants him to suffer not knowing where he is going to sleep until he leaves. I hate being ruthless. Do I give him a transitional time period
With specific rules and consequences. I don't mean to babble but my mind just went into a bit of anxiety? Any advice appreciates!!! My son is a respectful son just an addict with manipulation ways. Help!!

I hate being ruthless.
So taking care of yourself and protecting yourself is ruthless? You spent a sizable chunk of your post describing how manipulative your son is. Shed your maternal roles and instinct for a moment. If another mother was facing the exact same situation with the exact same addict, what would you tell her?

I'd be willing to bet, given what you know to be true, you would tell her to not allow him in her house. Addicts don't respect boundaries. They pole vault over them and give us the finger when they do.

There is nothing ruthless about pragmatism and recognizing your AS for what he is.

So based on this, you know what you should do. Whether you do that or not is your call.
