You are reading from the book Each Day a New Beginning
I wake each morning with the thrill of expectation and the joy of being truly alive. And I'm thankful for this day.
—Angela L. Wozniak
Being open to the day's offering, all of it, and looking for the positive experiences therein, becomes habit only after a firm commitment and dedicated practice. Today is special for each of us.
These next twenty-four hours will be unlike all others. And we are not the persons we were, even as recently as yesterday. Looking forward to all of the day's events, with the knowledge that we are in the care of our higher power, in every detail, frees us to make the most of everything that happens.
We have been given the gift of life. We are survivors. The odds against survival in our past make clear we have yet a job to do and are being given the help to do it. Confidence wavers in all of us, but the strength we need will be given to each of us.
In this day that stands before me, I can be certain that I'll have many chances for growth, for kindness to others, for developing confidence in myself. I will be thoughtful in my actions today. They are special and will be repeated no more.

It wasn't always possible for me...there was a time when I could not even conceive of the idea of waking up grateful to live another day.
Back then, my days were filled with fear and the darkness that brings, with dispair and sadness for lost dreams and my lost son.
It is nothing less than a miracle that I was able to rise from the ashes, like a pheonix, and find a happy, peaceful joyous life...regardless of what my son did with his. I take no credit for this miracle, it was by the grace of God and the support of all my recovery friends in meetings and here who went before me to light my path.
I am about to go out on my morning nature walk in a few minutes, the fog delayed me this morning, but I think I was meant to find this reading and say "thank you" as I walk today, to the universe, to God, and to all who have walked with me for so many years now.
Take time today to smell the roses, to notice the beauty that surrounds you. Take time to find peace and listen to the breeze and the birds, and to smell the green fragrance of summer. I promise you will feel better for having done that.
Hugs
....That would be most appreciated.
We have 3 pets. Latest acquisition 2013. It sleeps between us at night
with it's legs pointing straight up----and REQUIRES 30 minutes of belly rub. I say
requires because if you try to give less....say 20......you will be immediately 'corrected'
with a paw to the head.
....so yes, crusts cut off....chilled.....at 40F (5C for you Canadians).
50,000 years ago these starving animals circled our fires at timid range,
hoping for scraps of meat in exchange for security in the form of their highly
attuned senses.
Today, they live in comfort, controlled climate, hunger for nothing,
go inside/outside at will, get long walks every day----and are pampered
more than most children.
So tell me again WHICH is the superior/intelligent species?

Ducks?
==============================================
Sadly, no.
Ducks are loud. They quack incessantly (in real life and websites).
They are foul fowls....filthy and violent.
I'll wager there are about as many pet ducks as there are pet snapping
turtles.
