Smile 18 months

An update - 18 mos sober for my 25 y/o son. He is a new man, a good daddy to his 3-y/o daughter, a loving, honest, respectful son, and most importantly, a grateful to God person who truly practices what he's learned in detox, 6 mos in SLE, and 12 more months on his own. Working full time, college part time. Thank God for His intervention in my son's life. I see evidence of it every day!

I still come to SR and read some many stories of grief. I'm not bragging, but want to give hope to those who are struggling. I know how that feels. It's still very real to me. And it can get better! It really can. Just keep the faith, keep reading these posts and keep making your loved one own his/her issue. It's so important. Thinking of all of you who are struggling, and saying thank you to those who helped me through my tearful posts in earlier times.

So refreshing to read a success story. I really need that right now with my 18 day clean boyfriend, I have hope he can overcome this again (he was 1.5 years clean before), and reading this makes it better for me!

Thanks!
