Still lingering

I just woke up from a weird dream of my ex and have no clue why he's still lingering. it saddens me that my subconscious is somehow always reminding me of the failed relationship. i want to rid of all the memories and move on. It's been too long. Ahh just get out of my head forever. Let me move on and find someone who truly loves me.

:(

You will move on SilentLove, dreams are just dreams but the joy of live and the beauty of each day is very real. Embrace the day and live it well.

Hugs

SL, I know how evocative dreams can be, that must have been tough, but it sounds to me like you have come a long way since your breakup! I think sometimes our subconscious just lags behind a little, trying to work things out in our dream life. I often dream of exes at times when I'm feeling lonely. Maybe you are at a point now where you have enough distance from your ex to think a little about whether there were red flags that you missed with him, and how you can do things differently next time in order to find a relationship that is more fulfilling? Wishing you peace!

Dreams occur because of unresolved emotions your brain is just processing. ...

it's just a dream not your brain REMINDING you of failure. otherwise what is the polka dotted rhino that you talked to while six foot tall daffodils danced by about????

and if it helps, just last night THE old flame was there in MY dreams again....the old him...well technically the 20 years ago younger him....def not the real live today that i haven't seen in over five years him!

my mother, long deceased, shows up in my dreams a lot too - just there, still just as annoying! and my 2nd ex husband who i have absolutely zero lingering feelings for!!!

i guess they are all my brain's version of SNL! :)

I recently had a dream about my ex from way back in day. It was not an unpleasant dream. And I've had dreams about her family, too.

And then sometimes I dream about the woman I dated before my AXGF came into the picture, and that one still hurts.

We all carry everyone we've loved, and everyone we've lost. And some times are easier than other times. Like it or not, I'm going to carry my AXGF for as long as I live. Recent events aside, I'm fine with it because I don't let it hurt me. You'll have to learn how to live with it, too.
