You need to figure out what you want for yourself, what will make you you happy and healthy. Because you are the only piece of this whole puzzle over which you have any control. Do something good for yourself today, even if it's just something small, you deserve it.
CJ, whatever else is going on, this seems to be the bottom line.
You have worked yourself to pieces trying to help this person.

When is your turn?

My turn is NOW. I've gotten myself to a meeting, will be attending my first f2f nar-anon this Friday. Did al-anon last night. Detached and refused to engage on the topic of NYE today. Baby steps, baby steps.

Well done! That's the way to start the New Year.

I wish you the best. I'm also glad to hear about the writing success

Courtjester I really cannot add anything else to what has already been said but wanted you to know I am so sorry you are going through this. I am glad you are going to meetings for yourself and hope you find strength and wisdom there to make the changes, whatever they will be, for your own happiness.

I think Interrupted makes a very good point:
Would you accept lying and cheating and being shunted aside from a sober man? His addiction and/or so-called recovery sholdn't be an excuse or justification or make his behavior less accountable.
