Sick of talking about it
AH has been in jail for about 10 days now and doesn't see a judge again until the 18th. I understand that he is really scared because we literally have no clue what is going to happen. He has a public defender and I am sure my AH is just one of hundreds of cases he is handling. Anyway, I am scared too, but really trying to focus on me and the kids. Every time AH calls he says the same thing "I miss you, how are you, how are kids?" Then he will ONLY talk about his court stuff for the remainder of the conversation. It is really making me crazy. I am terrified that he could end up in prison, but he made these mistakes, so I feel he is just gonna have to deal with the consequences. Is it mean of me to ask him to not call me if he just wants to talk about court? I am keeping it together and when he calls to whine it really puts me back in the bad spot I was in 10 days ago. I want to be understanding, but honestly, I am sick of his complaining! Any suggestions on dealing with this without sounding like I just don't care anymore?

If you have kids, you are good at changing the subject when they start harping on about something you have already made a ruling on!
No, I said you can't watch TV anymore today. Stop asking me. ..no. .I said. .Hey, look at that bird! See how itt's floating? Was that a toad in the grass? Do you want to go for a bike ride???? *grin*
Maybe you could redirect the conversation, just say "yeah" or "I don't know either" and talk about something totally other?
